Beauty is Cool! Beauty Weekend Review
Cool Mommies around the globe still love to look beautiful, even when trotting off to parent teacher functions and field trips. There’s a host of fall saving’s on beauty products going on right now to suit any budget. If you’ve never tried some of these stores, now is the time! Because I don’t like to buy without knowing a bit about the retailer or their products, I’ve handpicked a few of my favorites to review this weekend, and doused these with product sales to make your beauty buying go further. I’ve scoured the net for deals and sales on beauty products for the coolest of mommies! Saturday and Sunday, we’ll continue this trend by taking a look at some of the top beauty sites and special savings. Make your weekend a beautiful one!
The Body Shop- While you can’t go to a strip mall without tripping over a Bath and Body Works, their competitor, The Body Shop’s, a bit more quiet and organic in their approach. Not as splashy, nor as commonplace in the scenery of Americana, but still a huge presence in the market here and abroad. I happen to be a Body Shop addict.
I started this trend when I found out the late Princess Diana shopped there. Considering I couldn’t afford the same clothing stores as a Princess, I did the next best thing and sought out her skin care and promptly fell in love. I’ve tried body butters all over the planet, from the obscenely expensive to the super cheap. Never have I found one that lavished my skin with deep moisture like the Body Shop. Their Mango Scrub, when coupled with Mango Body Butter will take you to tropical sensory bliss, with gorgeous, radiant skin to boot. Another thing I love about the Body Shop is what they stand for. Their products are not only natural, but the range of charitable organizations the Body Shop supports are huge. You’ll feel good about buying there, as well as love their stuff. My thoughts are, if you’re going to spend money, make it count. Every dollar at Body Shop does count for animal rights, to stopping slave trafficking to environmental issues.
Here’s The Body Shop’s Values Statement:
Our Values
We believe there is only one way to beautiful, nature’s way. We’ve believed this for years and still do. We constantly seek out wonderful natural ingredients from all four corners of the globe, and we bring you products bursting with effectiveness to enhance your natural beauty. While we’re doing this we always strive to protect this beautiful planet and the people who depend on it. We don’t do it this way because it’s fashionable. We do it because, to us, it’s the only way.
What is the Soul of Beauty
To us, beauty is a feeling, a natural way of being, where character, self-esteem and humor are freely expressed and celebrated.
Against Animal Testing. For Animal Protection.
We have never, and will never, test our cosmetic products on animals. Nor will we commission others to do so.
We Don’t Think Greed, Dishonesty or Exploitation Make Your Skin Any Smoother.
We believe that that all people have a right to a fair wage and to be treated with respect. We work directly with over 30 Community Trade suppliers to build businesses in more than 20 countries, helping 25,000 people to earn a sustainable income.
Business Designed With Our Beautiful Planet in Mind.
We are continually seeking out renewable resources, sustainable raw ingredients, and better ways of protecting rainforests and preserving the natural balance of the world that we live in.
There’s something more alarming than HIV, Domestic Violence, and Exploitation: Ignoring them.
We’ve always seen ourselves as a lot more than just a beauty company. For years we’ve campaigned against injustices, stood up for the vulnberable and spoken out for those without a voice of their own.
The way we do business, the way we make products, the way we source ingredients, and the way we use our voice; we’re different because of our Values.
If that doesn’t make you want to buy every last Body Shop product, nothing will. But, add to it their glorious, not over priced, great stuff and you’ll lose yourself in the Body Shop. A trip to their store, means mixing your own scented lotions, creams or body scents, (another Body Shop wonder). This weekend, there are simply glorious products on sale. Try Mango Bliss Gift Set, for a friend or a sweet gift to yourself that keeps giving. All their gift sets are on sale, with savings up to 70% off! It’s a great way to try the products at special savings. These are two of my very favorites, the mini manicure set wafts almond scents while smoothing even the dryest of skin. You will love these. Even a princess found them regal.
